Q1. The figure below shows the map of a town that has four districts separated by a river and canals. There are seven bridges that allow people to cross the water, shown in red color. To celebrate the national day, it is planned to have a parade. The route of the parade was planned as follows:

Start from any of the four districts, travel across each bridge exactly once, and return back to the district we started from.

Find a way for the parade to travel according to the requirement (if you cannot find a solution, you can get full credit by indicating how you tried out all the different possibilities.)

Q2. [Logistics puzzle from the lecture notes]. There is war in the Gobi desert. A spy is lost in the desert when he comes to an oasis – there is plenty of water and food, but his army headquarters are 100 Km away. He can carry enough food and water for 3 days, and can walk up to 20 Km each day. He has a good compass, and plenty of bags to store food and water. Can he reach the headquarters? In how many days?
