Xuan Qiu joined the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics as a lecturer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in January 2015 and is promoted to Senior Lecturer on 19 Jan 2022. Prior to this position, she was teaching at Hang Seng Management College. During 2013 to 2014, she also worked as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University. She received her Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering from The University of Hong Kong (2013), and B.E. in software engineering from Sun Yat-sen University (2009).
